New York Bus Rental Tips: Free NYC Walking Tours (Part 4)

New York Bus Rental has been giving you information on free walking tours around the Big Apple that you can take part in. These walking tours will allow you to experience NYC’s scenery, history and culture without having to spend a lot.

If you are going to these tours with a group, it’s best to get a New York bus rental to take you to the meet-up venues. It’s also great to have a bus waiting for you and take you home or wherever you want to go next after all the walking you’ve done!

The Times Square Alliance Tours

There are two different walking tours offered by the Times Square Alliance. The Times Square History Tour takes you to visit the various points of interest in and around Times Square. Learn about its architecture, history, and some bits of trivia. There is also the Broadway Tour, which will take you through the theater district and give you some tidbits about interesting things that happen backstage. You can also listen to taped interviews of Broadway stars or get your fill of show tunes.

Both of these tours cost $25 per person. The Times Square Alliance, however, also offers the free Times Square Expose walking tour. This will give you the most important places in and around Times Square and will include new attractions along with historic landmarks.

The Grand Tour

Sponsored by the Grand Central Partnership, the Grand Tour takes you to places inside and near the Grand Central Terminal.

This weekly tour is an award winner where you can learn more about the architecture and history of the Grand Central Terminal, along with the buildings and attractions nearby including the Pershing Square, the original Lincoln Memorial, the News Building and the Chrysler Building.

The tour happens every Friday all year round. It starts at 12:30 P.M. and lasts for 90 minutes. Meeting place is at the sculpture court on Park Ave. across the Grand Central Terminal.
