New York Bus Rental Tips: Free NYC Walking Tours (Part 1)

There are plenty of things you can do while in the Big Apple. And you don’t even have so spend so much in order to do them. In fact, some of these activities are free! New York Bus Rental suggests that you go on a free walking tour.

Here’s New York Bus Rental’s list of free walking tours in the city.

Greenwich Village Walking Tour

The Greenwich Village Walking Tour takes you to the bizarre and beautiful Greenwich Village. These 90-minute tours are led by licensed tour guides who will show you the various historic places, architectural wonders and social aspects of the Village.

Meet-up is at the northwest corner of 2nd Ave. and St. Marks Place, just outside Eastside Bakery at 11:30 AM every Saturday.

The Central Park Conservancy Guided Tours

The Central Park Conservancy offers guided tours for groups all year round. You can learn more about the park’s ecology, design and history on these volunteer-led tours. It would be impossible to see all of Central Park in a single day, so why not opt for the highlights? The tours last for one up to two hours.

You can choose from tours that are highly accessible with easy to negotiate paths. Or you could go for a more challenging tour. You could also go by themes:

- Art of the Park
- Amble Through the Ramble
- Boats, Balls, Bikes and Blades
- The Castle and its Kingdom
- Conservatory Garden Tours
- Cross Park Promenade
- Hallet and the Pond
- Manhattan Adirondacks
- Memorial Walk
- A Road Once Traveled
- Seneca Village
- Views from the Past
- West Side Stories

You will need to reserve by calling 212 360 2726 or e-mailing tours@centralparknyc.org for groups of more than six people.

If you are a large group, be sure to make arrangements first. And be sure to get a New York Bus Rental to take you to your meet-up place.
