Memorial Day is a Federal holiday when all banks, schools and post offices are closed. Most people say that this holiday signals the start of summer.
If you are in New York City, take advantage of this holiday to bond with family and friends. Book a New York Bus Rental from us and plan an exciting day.
A New York Bus Rental will accommodate groups of any size. So it does not matter whether you have a big group of up to 60 people or just a very small one with 10 people; we can provide you with just the right buses for your travel plans.
Now where to go on Memorial Day?
1. Catch the NY Philharmonic Orchestra at St. John the Divine.
At 8:00 p.m. on Memorial Day, the New York Philharmonic will be performing at the St. John the Divine under the direction of its music director, Alan Gilbert. This concert is free and open to the public, but you must have a ticket to get in. Tickets are handed out starting at 6:00 p.m. on the day itself.
2. Join the Memorial Day parades.
The Memorial Day Parade starts at noon and ends at 2 p.m. at Dyckman and Broadway, in Manhattan.
Or you can go ahead and join the Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade, which is held annually and has the reputation of being the largest in the U.S. This parade starts at 2:00 p.m.
3. Go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Memorial Day means that it is Holiday Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met is usually closed on Mondays except for Holiday Mondays, where all family programs are free with your admission. This is certainly the best time to take your kids to the museum!
Whatever activity you do and wherever you go on Memorial Day, it will certainly leave you exhausted and we are sure that you and your group will be thanking New York Bus Rental for the air-conditioned and comfortable bus that we provide you!
